Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Manchester City v Sunderland (Kick Off: 3pm)

A must win game for us really with West Ham dropping points yesterday and Fulham winning. Massive injury problems for us with Stephen Ireland and Wayne Bridge doubtful after suffering knocks midweek. Vincent Kompany is still having problems with his toe and Nigel De Jong is out, though Craig Bellamy may feature.

    Possible line up -

    Given

    Richards
    Dunne
    Onouha
    Garrido

    Zabaleta

    Wright-Phillips
    Elano

    Vassell
    Robinho

    Evans

Suns: Hart, Caicedo, Fernandes, Berti, Weiss, Bellamy, Bojinov.

Looking at that I really hope Superman is good to go.

Sparky in the NOTW saying he will start to drop Robinho unless he starts to perform better.

Rightly so tbh. Petrov starts full training this week so we will have other options.

thank fcuk, after the last few months id be happy to never see him in a city jersey again

need a win today to keep 7th alive, and to forget the aalborg game.

Ah now that's a bit much.

Apparently Bojinov is starting today. I'll wince every time he kicks the ball.

no, ive really lost patience with him, hes just the same as elano, so much talent and no heart, i think its bad for the team to have a player like that.

yeah i keep thinking boj is gonna break something everytime he gets near the ball, huge fella though, hopefully he can make a go of it for the rest of the season.

It'd be typical of City to sign the world's most expensive player then ship him out after one season in which he was the top scorer.

Only we could have fans complaining about someone like Robinho. Short memories seem to forget Mark Kennedy, Rick Holden and Peter Beagrie who played in same position before him.

    Is Superman injured ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,037 ✭✭✭bigstar

the difference with those players is that their talent only went so far, robinho could the best player in the world and to play the way he has since xmas is criminal to me. he just doesnt care, no matter how a good a player is he has to want to play, a lot of times robihno doesnt.

Yeah he hurt his ankle badly on Thursday when one of the Aalborg players landed on it. He finished out the game but it was heavily strapped. Should only miss today's game.

I'm not buying it that Robinho doesn't care sometimes. His tracking back has been superb over the last two months and he is much more aware defensively than when he first joined.

If you watch the aftermath of the Aalborg shoot out he was one of the first over to Given, absolutely chuffed we got through.

Players go through rough spells. Robinho is double marked in every game he plays and is not going to have everything his own way once he gets "found out" by defenders. It's part and parcel of the game. I fully believe however that he will score more goals before the end of the season and hope he goes nowhere in the summer.

 But is he not already good? He's out top scorer and has been excellent for the majority of games.

I really think the expectations for him are too high, especially when people moan when he doesn't turn it on every game.

@ redout: No idea about veetle at all

majority, no. away from home hes almost non existent, so thats half all games and recently at home hes been poor too. i dont like lazy players, sooner or later they cost you games and imo hes cost us a few already. i dont expect him to be great eery game, irelands been hands down our best player and even he has the odd off game but you know hes trying to win every match.
look it doenst matter well disagree, hell probably have a stormer today and ill have to eat my words

Yeah I'm up and running now.

Just saw the highlights. Definite peno, SWP shoulda scored when through, and Boj looks quality.

De Jong/Kompany off, Bellers on please.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,037 ✭✭✭bigstar

good few chances in the first half, have to get something from this. expecting better from sunderland in the second half though. SWP looks the only chance of something
