I really want to do psychology but the 490+ points is with everyday becoming further out of my reach.I was thinking about do psychology through as a minor because I think there is a restriction.I just want to know how difficult it is to get psychology once you go through DN012 and also is it in depth ?

Also I am sort of lost when it comes to arts ,the only thing I'm really interested in is the workings of the human mind ......can someone suggest other arts subjects that they find interest and pass on their wisdom to me .
    Thanks in advance

when i was choosing my subjects i just studied the prospectus loads and just spent ages readin about the subjects it offers. remember once you get in you have about 2 weeks to change your mind if you dont like the subjects you picked

Bear in mind that if you do it as a minor you won't be able to practise as a psychologist.

No matter what arts degree you do there's a HDip in Psychology offered by UCD and TCD, so even if you don't get the points, you can do it as a postgrad, here's the links: http://www.ucd.ie/psychology/pgcourses/hdip.html
http://www.psychology.tcd.ie/postgraduate/h-dip/ They're pretty good because you get the equivelant of a 3-year BA in a 2-year HDip and then you're a fully qualified Psychologist!

That's if you can get in. As far as I'm aware competition for those places is fierce and even students doing a Psychology undergrad have to show that they've experience etc.

A B.A in psychology is a long way off what you need to be a fully qualified psychologist

Just throwing it out there, you can still do psychology through arts at NUIM, or get a guaranteed place in psychology through the psychology through science root, it's a 4 years B.Sc instead of a three year B.A. But the points are usually around 450.

I studied psychology through arts in Galway. My other subject was social and political science but i decided that by spending the first 2 weeks going to loads of lectures and then picking one that interested me. i then went to England to do the graduate diploma. its really difficult to get into it here but in england every uni that i applied to offered me a place on the course.
