Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is my first post ever, I'm thinking of doing a 10k in June/ July, can anyone recommend a good one to do, not one of those big ones with 10,000! I dont want to be swamped with lycra clad elite athletes! Something that will get the urge to do another one and maybe see if it will encourage me to do maybe a marathon?? I live in Meath and am trying to get fit. Thanks

There is a great summer league in Meath. Races from 5k to 10 k. The meath board post here so they might point you in the right direction. Dunshaughlin has a brilliant 10k in August I think.

If you fancy easing yourself into it....there is a 5k race in Leixlip on the 9th May - will be a field of mixed ability and walkers also setting off 15 minutes before runners (for those new to running having walkers on the course can help with the motivation - and will certainly guarantee that you will be nowhere near the end!)

Just ran the race route and it looks like a a nice fast loop with plenty of shelter from the wind.
