Whatever happened to the bit of cardboard that use to accompany each bounty bar?

A few Google Music invites have appeared in my account if anyone is looking for one.

Bloke in work asked me if I had any spare tickets for the all ireland, never heard him talk about any GAA, let alone going to games, never a single bit of interest before.Im only a fair weather championship fan, but at least Im honest and admit it!

He said he was a loyal Dublin fan who went to all the games, even the home and away league games...

Dublin are so lucky to have a couple of hundred thousand at all league games :)

Maybe watching the match on TV will be much better than being there anyway

You in the hill? Feck it I'm gonna wear tons of rain gear like the practical aul fella I've become. Should be a great atmosphere, with the minor game too.

No, lower cusack, but far enough forward to be totally uncovered, get a lot wetter there than the hill when it rains as you are providing more surface area to the sky!!

Got yet another Garmin gadget in the post yesterday, think I'll have to go out and "test" it on the bike this evening and see how lost I can get with a satnav on the bike.

Any excuse to not go for a run. :)

Bet it will rain now though. :(

Sounds like we could have a triathlete on our hands, first a duathlon now you're getting gadgets for the bike. Hmmmm....

    One step at a time.

Other than dangerously close fitting clothing I'm not sure what swimming has to offer me, there isn't any gadgets to buy other than arm bands. Although these Thomas The Tank Engine ones do look cool:

You have no idea! Apart from spending hundred of €€€ on a wetsuit, they now have fancy swimming watches that count strokes, HR, number of laps in the pool and so on. And underwater MP3 players. And specialised HR monitors. Gadgets galore!

Love the armbands, but I don't think they'd fit me.

As TBF says, if you think there are no swim gadgets you're kidding yourself. Wetsuits, goggles, pull buoys...the options are endless! Enjoy your triathlon - the SBR thread is marvellous fun, you will LOVE playing with all those tables. :)

...you will LOVE playing with all those tables. :)

And that will be the real reason for me avoiding triathlons. It's not the swimming at all, it's the damn tables. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,208 ✭✭✭shotgunmcos

Perhaps we could set up a table to rank how many tables you are involved with :D

Word has it (a builder/green fingers judging by flowers) that we could be getting the same type of winter as last year. Only, it will arrive 3 weeks earlier this year
Single digits on the thermostat this morning... I saw 8 degrees

we were suppose to have a good summer too ! Wouldnt worry too much bout those predictions , they frequently get the weather forecast wrong over 7 days out .

Great picture form the 1984 olympics. Daley Thompsom the animal looking unflustered while all around him collapse in a heap.

I managed to get a ticket for the all Ireland final :D:D:D:D:D:D I'm over the moon, 16 years since I attended one. Didn't think it would take Dublin that long to get back to the final. Come on the Dubs

Friend of mine working in TCD sent me this, apparently somebody 'hacked' the English dept's website. It's gone now but thankfully Google has cached it for posterity :)

What a brilliant result, who'd have thought it? Great performance from the Irish pack. :D

My son's rugby team are having their open day starting in Aughrim in half an hour, I wonder how many new recruits will turn up after watching that:D

Indeed. I was in a bad mood this morning having to miss the half marathon but the match made up to a certain extent.

This is it! Nerves are shredded. My boys are in Croke Park, I'm in my customary match-watching position - standing up, roaring at the telly, hiding behind the door in extreme moments of stress. C'mon you boys in blue, up the Dubs!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,762 ✭✭✭✭ecoli

Sitting in work with two 42" teles side by side ready for United win on one (though with Evans starting gonna be a nervy one) and Dubs hopefully going one better in this final (surely we cant lose 5 finals in the one year).

Its days like this I dont hate work as much:D
