My head is wrecked from it all, trying to remember if I have cancelled everything and told all the relevant people I'm moving. It will mean a commute of over 2 hours per day working but Im so excited to be moving in with my fiance and my daughter is thrilled too. BUT eek I have to live with a boy!!

magnet, whenever I click on a thread to see what you're saying, all the ad's at the bottom of the screen start mentioning chocolate cake...... bizzarre but in a funny way.

    Congrats on the job RK.

I believe taper madness has started with me. Even lunchtime retail therapy (debenhams sale) hasn't calmed me down.

Yeah tried that and am normally very good natured, but that volvic creep brings out the worst of me, some advertising guy was way off the mark with that one, it's supposed to be aspirational but who would aspire to b some marky mark / Oliver naked chef guy / generic long haired Indy type well ... Creep.

Or maybe it's really clever, I mean lots of people have registered their annoyedness with me about that guy ergo putting the product in the mind of the audience. Maybe it's intentionally irritating. No that doesn't make any sense, or does it .......

Men are worse at that kind of thing for evolutionary reasons.

We are adapted to go out on the African savannah, peering far into the distance to spot our prey and focussing in on it with tunnel vision.

Women on the other hand guard the home, protect the nest and teh young. They need to be alert to danger from all directions and so have excellent peripheral vision.

So the reason I didn't take the coffee cup down is that I didn't see and no amount of nagging is going to change millions of years of Darwinian progress :P

In my most recent experience of the aferican savannah, the difference between men and women was very clear when we came across a snake.
men: I wonder if we can hurdle over it
women: do I have enough calories/water to take the long (+ 5 km) way around

Oooh have ye decided on the honeymoon yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,365 ✭✭✭hunnymonster

Probably a compromise - the Ultra trail du Mont Blanc. Long enough for me to feel it's properly tough, but not a multi-day stink fest.

    Will this day ever end.....
Even with the boss gone it's totally dragging. And my shopping impulses got the better of me. Just bought an external hard drive for myself and a Garmin 205

How about a Thursday afternoon joke?

    The Tesco Greeter:

A very loud, greasy, unattractive, tattooed, welfare dependent, chav,
minger, woman wearing a Man United top walked into Tesco in Tallaght
with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.

The Tesco greeter said pleasantly, 'Good morning madam, and welcome to
    Tesco
Nice children you have there. Are they twins by any chance?'

The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, 'F*ck no, they're
Not bleeding twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7.
Why the f*ck would you think they're twins? Are you blind, thick or just
    stupid?'

'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Madam,'replied the greeter. 'I just
couldn't believe you've been shagged twice.

Have a good day, and thank you for shopping at Tesco.'

Cheers colblimp, that's put a smile back on my face after what has been a very crappy day at work - damn annual reviews and being bottom of the pile... (Not my fault though!)

My garmin 305 dies last night. Did someone mention there is a new one coming out 310? Anyone know anything about it?

310XT, would be ideal for you as it's waterproof as well, aimed towards triathletes, you can switch from sport to sport including timing your transitions etc at the push of the button. It looks amazing.
