Hope ur enjoying the stadium cause game is sh!te>>> The sooner the Irish public realise our team and indeed our manager are crap the better

Just wondering if we should start considering gaa players for selection if all we're going to do is boot the ball long, at least they'd have the height. Fcukin shlt

My kids wanted to watch Grease, so I let them. Much better entertainment and Danny Zuko is much more likely to score.

Poor performance from a mediocre team. Russia deserved to win and by more than a goal...

On a positive note the stadium is awesome and the atmosphere is as good as the old one.

    Cheeky. :D

Was on the 8th I think, and about 6 minutes after I left the front door that day.

My toe had only fairly recently cleared up from turning a nasty shade after the intermediate XC last year. But today it seems that I've returned it to turning funny colours again after another XC race. :(

Today was a sunny day though and no running through lakes populated by swans required.

Just spent a fortune buying LUFC branded baby stuff for the sisters baby.

    56_BAB50.jpg

    MEGA!!! :D

    It ARRIVED!!! :D

My large boys shirt is too big though. No way am I as smaller than a 12 year old boy.

Edit: [rant]and thank god that work day is over, big day today with rotations. 3 of us got called to a meeting this morning to talk about how the workload will be distributed 'evenly' while another person is still on leave(despite the fact there are 5 of us there in the AM) So Mrs. "I'm too old to work" gets zilch to do, Mr. X gets told he'll cover something, RQ gets told she'll cover something else, help Mr. X if he needs it and RQ has to cover something else aswell. Eh hang on a second? I know everyone else is a bit incompetent like, but this isn't even distribution.

Isn't this just a case of them re-whoring themselves to the highest bidder?
Whats to stop this new lad going tits up in a few years and leaving the fans thinking that they have been "cheated" again........

Nope, the Singapore Billionaire Lim was bidding more for the club (about £20million more) but the NESV bid was considered better as they have a proven expertise in turning around famous but underperforming clubs (the Red Sox hadn't won a World Series in 80 years before the buy out and have now won 2 in 6). They also have expertise in stadium development (Fenway is as iconic in baseball as Anfield is in football) and own a company that specialises in sports sponsorship and sports commercial revenue.

There are no guarantees but Dumb & Dumber being kicked out with a £144million loss and new owners who look on paper to be fairly sound makes me a happy camper :)

The improved bid from Lim is actually a new bid since the NESV bid was provisionally accepted. The board (I understand) are obliged to consider this bid now as well as the NESV bid (they might improve their offer as well). Two things that make the Lim bid particularly appealing to both the board and RBS is that he is paying in cash and that he is planning on making £40m available for the Jan transfer window (RBS won't care about this bit...).

I think Lim is a funny character the man owns a chain of Man Utd themed restaurants and now wants to own Liverpool. Me thinks this guy knows as much about English football as i do about Singapore greeting customs:D

Do they have to consider it though? My understanding is that it was essentially a sealed bid auction and that Lim lost out to NESV and that the club was sold pending todays court case. You can't go back after an auction is done and say "oh go on then I'll offer an extra tenner..."

That said both bids have merits - Lim has proven cash reserves and expertise in sports marketing in teh far east, which could be useful. NESV have lots of pros as well and either is better than the clowns now being run out of town.

Do they have to consider it though?

My understanding of the legality of the whole thing is pretty loose, but basing it on Robert Peston's recent article on BBC News, because RBS won the case, the Board of LFC is actually a new board consisting of the original members who would be obliged to seek the best deal for their shareholders and consider the bid from Lim.
