Cannot display webpage but seems to be connected to server

Hi Guys, A non techie here so please bear with me while I try to explain my problem. I have just bought a Samsung NC10 netbook and am trying to connect it to my Eircom Wireless Router. It runs Win XP and IE6 with an Atheros AR5007Eg wireless network adapter. I also have a Sony Vaio again running XP with no problems…

It will give me a good idea of what's installed on your computer [maybe including things that might stop your internet working]
