something like the apple tv - only wider
i propose to use a mini-itx motherboard, a slim (slot loading) dvd and a 2.5" disk
only have an led and the dvd on the front.

the access to the case would be via the bottom

i'm looking for places to mill the aluminium block.
so far, i've only found http://www.emachineshop.com/
does anyone know of anywhere closer to home (which for me is dublin)?

    regards

Sorry I'm slightly confused would you not be using aluminium panelling like that available from ac ryan and then just build the interior using L shaped aluminium strips and rivets.

I think I'm failing to see where milling aluminium is necessary

Here's a link to the AC ryan panels I'm talking about. Here

Go along to your local mechanic and ask what machine shop he uses. He'll probably be able to point you to a couple of places but I can't see them letting you do the work yourself.
