Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

FourFourTwo has provided some food for thought here, but doesn't even scratch the surface imo.

    I'd go for -

    - Corradi/Barton - knighting with the corner flag

    - Aylesbury United - 'duck walk' in the FA Cup

    - Lee Sharpe - The Sharpey Shuffle

    - Temuri Ketsbaia - kicking the bollox out of an advertisement hoarding

    - Jurgen Klinsamann - The Klinsmann Dive

    - Gazza - The Dentist's Chair

    - Shane Long - spear tackling the mascot

    - Marco Tardelli - raw emotion

    - Shefki Kuqi - nosedive

Of course sometimes he put his other arm up. And on occassion, both arms.

Honourable rugby mention for Jamie Heaslip's celebration against Scotland last week as it was before he even touched down!

    Fjortoft, Swindon Town's Airplane Man

Actually how about John O'Shea's "I don't believe I've actually scored" after chipping in a fourth versus the Arsenal.

What about Damein Duff's one against Saudi Arabia?

Only one for me. Jose Mourinho gone racing down the line in Old Trafford. The night a star was born.

    Chequebook manager. Nothing special!

That was just embarrassing. Corradi the idiot came out after saying that he had plenty more celebrations. Somebody should have told him that he actually has to score first.

Your right. He spent millions didn't he winning the CL & League with Porto.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,543 ✭✭✭JerryHandbag

-Teddy Sheringham back in his Spurs days, doing his gunslinger thing
-Finidi George for Nigeria at WC94, pissin like a dog :D
-The whole Togo team at WC06!
-Gabriel Batistuta running for the corner flag and holding it like he was after scaling a mountain!

And much as it pains me, Steven Gerrard snoggin the camera at Old Trafford made me laugh.

    Glorified UEFA Cup that year.
Strachan's won the league up in Scotland!

Similar to Tardelli's, but Fabio Grosso after scoring against Germany in the World Cup semi-final. Ravanelli's shirt over the head was always funny as well.

It hasn't actually happened yet, but I expect Anderson to have some epic celebration when he finally scores for United. He hinted at it after the penalty in the League Cup final.

My favourite will always be Pearce. Still get ill thinking of the Shearer one.

I loved the Cantona did way back when he scored that great chip against Sunderland(?): just turned around with the imperious what's that? expression.

Van Bommel when he scored against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, he's a cule at heart and wanted to show the crowd how much he appreciated them. :pac::pac::pac:

Big fan of Batigol's scarface machine gun thing, Montella's aeroplane and Ravanelli's head into shirt.

Also like a few of Zlatan's when after scoring a great goal he just stands there looking surprised at how good he is. Poser extrordinare

You obviously don't remember his Street Fighter one then.

Most of Henrys celebrations sliding along the pitch with bags of arrogance, simple but effective especially against spurs at highbury!!:)

Also recently Robin Van Persie has had a few good ones rubbing it in the faces of the everton fans in the last minute up at Goodison was enjoyable to say the least!!

Hahaha. I love the way people constantly value and devalue the CL to suit their arguments. Priceless.

don't think this has been posted; but found this compilation. some beauts in there, including some that have been mentioned.

    http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1676202/best_goal_celebrations/

    notable mentions to -

    the Togo Squad.
    lucarelli sha**ing his shirt.
Cassano, the loose end, kicking the sh*t out of a corner flag.
the breakdancing by the Swiss is it?
    the Crouch robot of course.
van nistelrooy going to the front of a croatian defender to celebrate in his face (reminded me of why i dislike him).

also, not in the vid or been mentioned i don't think...the simplicity that was the Pires finger wag. always made me smile, apart from the times he did it versus Pool of course.

just no no no no no no no. Couldn't be further from the truth just no.

Fowlers cocaine line is legendary, how about the ghana player in the world cup who was in the middle of a cracking celebration. He was dancing like there was no tomorrow then realised he was offside. Cracking celebration well until he nearly cried.

Gerrards camera kiss will live fond in the memory tho

    End the voting.

    Cristiano Lucarelli.

He thought his goal was so good that he took the shirt off his back and tried to have sex with it.

The exploding hand grenade celebration - can't remember who did it exactly - was a lower league English side iirc.
Although it does lose points for being premeditated;)

I think one of the worst was the one with the mask by guy for Fulham - anyone remember who that was?

    hehe^

Has to be Keane v Juventus in '99. Captain's goal to get the team back into it and then ran straight back to his own half to get the game going again. True pro.

what about fowlers "arse bandit" celebration towards Graham le Saux (think it was a goal celebration)

or there was a celebration (cant remember who) - couple of players lined up and goalscorer fired an imaginary gun at them.

Is'nt a true pro meant to play games for his country then? not walk away like.

Wasn't a celebration, Le Saux was taking a free kick and fowler wouldn't move back the yards.

Didnt Geovanni do the same thing after scoring for Barca there about 10 years ago? Remember him being in a lot of trouble for it.

Elaborate goal celebrations are stupid. Just do a fistpump, be happy with your teammates for a moment, get back in your own half and get on with it. All these silly dances and kissing their rings and cradling their imaginative babies and whatnot make me cringe. Idiots.

Edit: For 'big' goals I'd find it reasonable enough to do the knee slide towards your fans and celebrate with them for a moment. Make sure the grass is wet tho :)
