Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Millions of Britons who use social networking sites such as Facebook could soon have their every move monitored by the Government and saved on a "Big Brother" database.

Ministers faced a civil liberties outcry last night over the plans, with accusations of excessive snooping on the private lives of law-abiding citizens.

No doubt the European Parliament is behind this one just as it was behind a directive dating back to 7/7 for the monitoring of emails and internet usage and a planned database to track so called "terror plots".

Well if someone is tupid enough to log their every move on the likes of facebook/bebo etc then they are morons. Seriously we do have control over what info we put out there - thats the real power.

People are gullible enough to post personal details about themselves leaving them wide open for state departments, police, revenue, employees etc many deserving what they get. The fact that the authorities intend storing his information on a database could mean that it could be used as evidence in time to come.

These sites could be regarded on as the same as loyalty cards as people are voluntary submitting their lifestyles such as spending habits and movements.

And what reason leads you to believe that anything posted on bebo or facebook will ever be used as evidence against anyone?
Who would be stupid enough to "I just broke into a house LOL" on their profile?

And of course you're blowing the entire thing out of proportion. It's one minister merely making that suggestion. It's not in the process of becoming law and is still subject to democracy despite what you are going to insist.

More than one person has been sacked over the contents of their pages.

I can guarantee that all the information on these sites is already being gathered.
Yes and that was an individual from a company looking at information that the person voluntarily put up. Not exactly shocking.

And how exactly can you guarantee the information is being gathered?
    Have you any evidence?

Do you live on planet "good guy"?

Have people never got an alternative motive, is everyone out to look after you?

So no you have no evidence?
    Just accusations?

    It already has. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2009/03/25/facebook-is-used-to-find-fraudsters-115875-21226102/

You do the obvious, also those into joyriding, train surfing, bike stunts etc but the authorities would be more into snooping into undeclared revenues from profiles of musicians, graphic artists, photographers etc.

Its NOT out of proportion, it is happening and wont be long before the European Parliament drafts in for the rest of Europe.

    From the article.
"Information gathered like this will be used with evidence from other sources to determine whether someone has been telling us the truth."

She added that potential charges cannot be brought on the Facebook evidence alone.
You do the obvious, also those into joyriding, train surfing, bike stunts etc but the authorities would be more into snooping into undeclared revenues from profiles of musicians, graphic artists, photographers etc.
Yes I can see why the NWO would want to crack down on extreme BMXing.
But anything to suggest that they will use facebook etc. to snoop on bands?

Its NOT out of proportion, it is happening and wont be long before the European Parliament drafts in for the rest of Europe.
And have you any evidence to suggest this?

So far we gone from one minister suggesting it to Europe is going to force it on us. So yea, I would call that blowing it out of proportion.

If he had evidence, he'd post it in AH :D

    =-=

Meh. It'll be a program searching the websites. There'll then be people looking for patterns, to see if X amount of people are meeting in a particular place, watch them, and go from there. If X person from terrorist country, with lots of photos of stuff blowing up, comes to London to visit a suspected extremist in London, and is stupid enough to post it on Bebo, meh. Darwin will take care of them. That, or the armed police busting into their flat... :D

Wow someone who is anti europe is allowed to express his opinion in the mainstream media (which is obvisiously controlled by the NWO)?

    Gasp!

So nothing to suggest that all social networking sites shall be monitered by the NWO then?

Come on, they can't just blatantly control the media, they must give us the "impression" that it is still a free world with freedom of speech and expression.

If European Parliament had its way it would have its department that would control and suppress all forms of expression inclding the media just like the former Soviet Union, just give it time and it will.

    Here is what to expect:

Euro MPs are preparing to vote on proposals for European Union regulation of blogs with the aim of countering a "dangerous" and unregulated blogosphere.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/3059617/Euro-MPs-to-vote-on-anonymous-blog-ban.html

"The Eurocrats want to silence the only resource available for undoctored information regarding the EU. What a bunch of fascists".

MPs seek to censor the media

Brady urged to ban priest's 'anti-EU' paper from church

Weren't the first two proposals shot down? And the third was a request to keep politics out of the church. Damn, it's 1984 alright...

Let's get this straight, any time the media posts something like a terrorism story or something pro Europe it's evidence that they're under the control of the NWO? But if they report something against Europe or a political scandal it's evidence of the NWO controlling the media but trying to disguise it?
Wow that makes the claim that they control the media unfalsifiable doesn't it?

But tell us, how do you know the European Parliament wants to "suppress all forms of expression including the media just like the former Soviet Union"?
Have you any evidence to this effect?

And finally those two articles are from September and November of last year.
Has anything to come out of them, particularly the vote one?
If memory serves you brought up the blog vote before and seemed very reluctant to say how the vote actually went.
