Xbox and Wireless Card

I have to install a wireless card in my xbox, as my new internet connection is too far away (unless i start drilling holes and running cables)

questions is....

How is streaming media over wireless ???

So the laptop will be wireless and the xbox will be wireless......

I watched movies on mine over wireless and had no problems.
Both my pc and xbox were wireless.

Works fine for me with laptop and xbox all connected over wifi. But Windows Media Centre wont work, way to much lag.

Just watch all your video's/music from the xbox dashboard.

Also, its a good idea to download tversity, free and easy to use.

It depends on what type of media you are thinking of streaming over your wireless router. Standard mp3 and movie files (700-1400meg .avi/.xvid/.divx etc.) will stream over pretty much any wireless router and laptop with TVersity. However, if you're looking to stream HD or BlueRay you'll need a faster wireless router and a laptop with good processing power for transcoding very large files quickly. Give us an idea of what kind of media you're thinking of and we can guide you a bit better on hardware requirements.
I can't stress enough how great TVersity is. It'll allow you play media content that isn't normally supported by the 360, it's simple to use, is well supported through forums... and it's free...

OK i just did this myself recentlly. My only other expierence had been on my brothers PS3 and streaming media wirelessly just did not work the files kept crapping out so he ran a cable in the end in his house.

So it was with some trepidation I got a wireless adapter for my own xbox and tried to stream wirelessly. Given that I had to travel a good distance back to my router I feared it would not work but it did really well infact.
The only problem was win media centre, in short do not use it. I used Win media player 11 on my PC and just shared out my files in that app and bang it worked no bother after a small media update.

So I say you should go for it.

I have used Twonky Media Server in the past and I have found that this works perfect over a wired network

I will just be streaming MP3's and Divx Movies, No HD stuff (however, you now have me interested in this )
