Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Eircom Alarm Knocking Out Wireless Broadband

Hi guys hope this is in the right place. The net in my parents house keeps going down when the eircom phonewatch alarm is switched on. It works fine normally except when the phone is answered (it shouldn't die when the phone rings i know). But the eircom phonewatch alarm they have has a wireless transmitter box its a new one they got recently. when you set the alarm it seems to screw with the router and cause the network to be lost, then you'll find it again then loose it and so on. anyone experience this before??

You probably have the DSL filters on incorrectly at the phone point, which would cause it to drop the connection when the phone rings.

Do you have filters attached to each connected phone point in the house?

i would say no, i'd say one or two phones about the house without them while there is one to the router itself.

You will need one on each phone point, otherwise an incoming call can kill your DSL connection as you have found out.

Are the alarm sensors around the house wired or wireless sensors?
I've head about an issue with wireless sensors and overlapping channels.

Earlier poster is also correct about making sure you have a DSL filter on every phone point around the house that has a phone connected to it.
