Anyone any idea how they are going to work?
I heard they start in 2010, that people starting college this year won't have to pay this year but will for subsequent years.
I am in 3rd year of my ordinary degree, hoping to go on to do the higher degree. Does this mean I will have to pay fees, or is the fact that I am in college now mean I won't?
Confused, as even though I will be "finished" my course this year, it was always my intention to keep going.

It won't be announced until the budget so no-one knows until then.
The indication from the minister seemed to be that it would affect students starting in 2010 only. i.e students already in college at that point would be okay and would still have free fees. We'll have to wait till April 7th to find out for sure though.

like bc says from the looks of it fees will only effect people that start sept 2010 i take it from year one since people already in have a contract (so to say) with the goverment for the 4 years free so unless you unlucky enough to fail the 09-10 year and have to reapeat most likey you are ok and wont have to pay fees

So basically, the knee-jerk reaction to a funding crisis will not show any capital gain whatsoever until after said crisis is over. Wrong on som many levels that words actually fail me.

Typical fúcking Irish government, they really should all emmigrate and let the residents of Dublin Zoo run the country.
