    Help needed for English essay:

    Write an article on the influence of religion/church in modern day society.

    maybe how their influence has changed in recent years and their loss of prestigue in the eys of the general public... or maybe how many people dont go to mass ever, but wouldnt think 2nd about not having a church wedding or having their children baptised..maybe they still have a lot of influence tolday just not as obvious! just a quick thrown out thought!:eek:

    If I was writing it, I would argue that they don't have much power anymore. Along with what english4490 said, you could say that:

    Controversial statements by the Pope (e.g., anti-contraception, don't read Harry Potter or Da Vinci Code) have caused some people to lose faith in the church.

    Advances in science means less people believe in religion now that ever before in history.
