Id pick one or the other.. :) Decide which one you think you would rather and go with it.. Its only going to be more money to try the two.

How high would you're budget be?

    Well what's your price limit?
I went through a stage of looking for camera's a while ago, if it was in the same range as me i could be of assitence.

yeah im gonna get a picture camera only, i just found this one while browsing around http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/2425921/art/nikon/coolpix-p90.html its not an slr camera, i dont even no what the difference is? but its got a load of features, 24x zoom, wideangle, 15fps burst shot and its only €400!, i thinks its the one, unless anybody knows better, should i keep searching for an slr? (what is the difference?)

That actually looks pretty nice, the difference between the two would be a SLR would be able to use different lenses. I would say if you could pick up a 2nd hand SLR from adverts.ie I would go for that!

At least thats what I would do!

If not that the Nikon D40 is a god send for skate photography, the VX of the photography world.

    GET IT!

In terms of video camera's, if you're still interested, you're best best on a low budget would be a second hand OLD MODEL Sony VX1000/2000 or a Sony PD150, found a great deal a while back which i'd love to pick up, but i'm not in the money right now, it sold for over a grand, but it could have went for a lot less, depends on who see's it like.

Was on Ebay, a PD150, thought it would go for about €600 at one stage, but after a like two days of no bids, a few people went mad on it.
