Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sticky Nomination Thread

you may have seen I've created a liveline sticky thread as a kind of joe-sponge thread, and we can do the same for other topics. Obviously no-one wants to see tons of stickys, so we'll see how we go. I guess the Ray D'arcy thread would be the next candidate, but should we have one thread for Ray and Tom? Should we have one Ger and Claire thread, or a general newstalk thread, or a news programs thread? or all or none - you can see the bind I'm in :)

Any suggestions - post below, thanks.

Things can get a bit lost in Stickies TBH IMO (I just wanted to do that).

The awards (good thread) has hardly had a hit since it was popped up there. I don't know why but there's a big drop off when something's stickied. I've noticed it on other forums too.

yeah - that's a fair point. The awards thread is quite specific tho, in that case people weren't really posting awards-type threads anyway, I just stickied it to give it maximum exposure. The ray d'arcy thread or the aaargh newstalk thread are practically stickies anyway, so my idea was just a formalization of that kind of thread. But as I say, good point, we'll let the market decide I guess :) Whatever happens, it'll be gradual.

How about sticking them under the Stickies, keeping them in bold type (as though they're always 'live'), not allowing them to drop down the ranks but not having the Sticky lable on them?

So eh...that's bold writing always, under the Stickies and not being able to drop down.

(Just a suggestion as there is something up with the moniker 'Sticky'.)

good idea - done. I can't embolden the title, but have changed it to "megathread" - that was tSubhs idea :)
