Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

well after much investigating, i have finally booked my self and my bike on the sail rail, HSS one way, cruse ferry the other, but forgot to ask the agent one question (and the one thing i forget to investigate as well), where does my bike go, does it go in a section of the hold, or is there a place on the passenger deck where i can secure it during the journey, been about 10 years since i was on the ferry so now clue about this, anyone have any ideas

Check in as a foot passenger to get your boarding card, then go outside to join the motorists. Jump in at the head of the queue and wait for directions when the loading starts. Bikes (both motor and pedal) usually load first. Just cycle on.

I don't know about the HSS specifically, but you'll be directed to a spot for bikes, usually either an alcove at the side or up at the very front.

Very interesting.. How much did it cost to add your bike/s to the party? Something I'd love to do over a weekend or something!

€104 all together, Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead via the HSS, then train onto london, coming back the ferry Holyhead to dublin, think the bike is something like €8 each way

Can you bring your bike on the sail&rail ticket. The ferry websites are very vague on specifics. I'm planning a Dublin-to-Nottingham cycle trip and a rail ticket would be a good safety net.

You can, but they will put your bike on board as luggage usually and you collect it on the other side. I have done this twice in the past 6 months and there have been no issues. It's well worth it as it is only about 5 euro more each way to get a train ticket anywhere in the country.
