currently unless you are entitled to a grant you will be paying €1500 registration fee and also a student levy approx €100, no one know what other fees will be until after the budget speech or when ever Batt o keeffe makes his announcement which is due in the next two weeks, he has provisionally said that the tuition fees wont be until the following year so the only fee yoy may have this year is what is listed above and then the following year the tuition fees as well as registration fee is what you would be looking at, but then again no one knows until after the speeches, sorry for the long winded reply i hope it helps

I can see these reg fees going up to about €3,000, but as raviravi we won't get stung with it till our 2nd year.

Saying that there's talk of the government introducing a Swedish iirc type system, basically (using rough figures) you get €10,000, 20% of that is a grant, with the other 80% being a loan, if you pass your 1st year exams you'll only have a 60% and you'll get a 40% grant and so on, so come 4th year you could end up with paying no fees at all if you pass all your exams. It's something along them lines anywho.

Apparently it's free for everyone (where everyone includes "foreign nationals"!) http://www.studyinsweden.se/Home/FAQ/#tuition
If I could marry a country...

Registration fees for 08/09 were about 900/1000 euro so I don't see them suddenly jumping to 3k (especially considering the government only gave permission for them to rise to 1.5k this year... maybe in the future, though if fees come in, ridiculously high registration costs will be somewhat pointless). Expect 1.5k though, I suppose. Oh god, I need a job.

Reg fees depend on course type and college. I'm expecting, about 3000, and then there will be accom. fees :( and food, books and all other necessities, aw crap!

Donate all of your organs then you'd be able to cover the cost... Just about :)

It's not known yet whether they'll be going by EU fees or not. If we'll be paying the same as foreign students then fees will be between about €5,000 and €8,000, with Arts being the cheapest and Medicine/Dentistry being the most expensive.

This will probably result in a Brain Drain as the maximum they charge in the UK per year is just over €3000. If they bring in fees the same as the EU fees it'll be pretty unfair on us as the UCAS snd CAO deadlines are long gone so it'd be impossible for us to change to a lot of courses.

    Ok,

Reg fees - 1500 (Do you have to pay these every year or only 1st.....?)
    Accomodation - 5000
Then possibly 150 a week for food, clothes books and drinks?! With robbing loads from home every weekend! :D

Pure guesswork there btw! You could prob live on cheaper every week and accomodation would be cheaper if you not city centre dweller for trinity!

150 a week? Holy lord. A guy in my class lives on 50 a week. I live at home so I can't say, but my monthly allowance is 200... (80 for buses, huzzah!)

Your in college so you might give a better estimate......

i havnt really worked out food costs or anything into that but suppose it would be a fair bit, 30 euro a day if your going home at weekends is a nice bit!

Depends on how much drink your drinking mainly i would think, in my case will be a lot most nights of the week, bye bye 9am lectures

    €1500 registration
    €4500 accomodation
    €200 books, materials
€3500 food, drink, living costs, socialising
    €700 transport, buses, taxis
    €300 misc.
    ______
    €10,100 per year Total

Thats based on my guess and for a sudent living away from home.

30 euro a day seems like a lot - like, that'd be as if you had no cooking facilities and had to eat out for every meal. Living at home I don't really know how much weekly groceries would cost, but certainly much cheaper than eating out every day. : p That said, if you're going out every night that's going to eat up most of your 30 euro.
Depends where you get accomodation too though. If I were to move out I'd definitely want to be within walking distance of college - reduce bus/taxi costs (reduce the hours spent travelling too).
