How big can the gaps between plasterboard slabs be?

    Hey,

Im in the process of reslabbing a couple of rooms with insulated plasterboard and discovered, much to my dismay that the 4foot gap under/above one of my windows cant be slabbed by a single 120cm sheet. (damn imperialists!)

so, offering up the cut slab leave a gap of about 15mm each side.
Is this too much to leave?

Im uncertain if I should attempt to fill before taping or will this cause the tape to potentially bulge and but more hassle than its worth?
Also, any filler is going to be sitting against the vapour barrier so wont have much to adhere to behind.
The other thought was to foam it and then fill...but that might be a messy road with no return.

    Love to hear some opinions.

    Cheers.

I would split two boards each 615mm . Keep the joints tights .

Erm I was talking about my post; I hit submit by accident, it happens if you hit tab and then enter. If you check the times you will see that I had in fact edited mine before you had even replied.

    That a totally different case.
That post is a gap between the slab and the floor that goes back to the exterior blockwork.
I have a gap between two insulated slabs that are sitting on a vapour barrier thats sitting on 50mm kingspan.

Im not worried about draughts Im worried about the joint cracking.
