I could actually see a really dogged display from ireland and us getting a 1-0 win. However its much more likely we will get a dogged display but Pirlo will pop up with a wonder free kick and if that happens I see Ireland possibly letting in another.


If Cyprus can do us a massive favour and hold bulgaria it will be a great result. If bulgaria win though itll be tough getting anything off them in Bulgaria and it could end up VERY tight for that second spot.

Can someone tell me when the next round of qualifiers are? Just wondering as Stephen Reid should be fit again (hopefully) by then...

Yeah its on setanta sports, didnt see the cannovarro incident but I believe that was a shocker too.....referee conspiracy against Ireland!!

Cypriot striker was on to a through ball one on one with keeper and was tugged to the ground, referee somehow maintained that the keeper wouldve got the ball wtf?? reaction of the cyprus players said it all.....

And I got a feeling that Italy line up isn't the greatest we've seen, maybe unbalanced if it's a 4-3-3 with Rossi not too comfortable on the left.
Chiellini at the back is solid but overrated, and Cannavaro is finished, a tramp of a player who has been rubbish for a few years now actually, and was a stupid decision for the ballon d'or. Long balls over the top for Doyler to run onto may be the best approach, cos theres no pace back there at all.
