Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Question about my old Hi-Fi

    Hey guys,

I got a hand-me-down of an old system, it has 5 speakers (A center, two main ones and two small surround type one).

The only Dolby markings I can find on it are "Dolby Pro Logic" (Rather than II)

So does this mean the system (only accepts analogue inputs by the way-as in red and white) isn't 5.1?

As such If I watch a DVD etc through it, what am I better off setting the audio option of the DVD to? (Say 2.0 or 5.1)

    Kind Regards,
    Noodler

Is there a 5.1 multi channel input?

I have/had an old amp that had a multi channel input (it was labelled DVD - 6 ch) and it plain old routed the inputs from an external decoder accordingly.

Many DVD players (even blu ray ones) do this processing on board and you will get all the benefits of HD audio.

whether the amp can reproduce that for your speakers is of course another question altogether.
