Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Posting Prints

    Hi Folks,
I had an exhibition recently. As a result, I have a load of prints left over. I also have a market for them.
Question is, how would I go about posting these out? Do I buy reinforced envelopes in bulk and keep nipping to the post office?

Remember, I have these prints sitting here that I'm looking to get rid of, I'm not looking to print more and get a company to post them out.

    Cheers.

if you have a market for them - post away .

(reinforced envelopes and Registered postage - dont want them going "missing" in the post)

if they are just prints and not mounted

why not buy tubes, they are a little more expensive but will ensure the print arrives intact

if they are mounted prints, i find the best way is to buy backing board or cardboard and make a sandwich with the mounted print in the centre

I just intend sending prints, not mounted.
I don't like tubes though - a lot of these prints will be 10"x15", so don't want them arriving bent, curved and taking ages to straighten out!

    Also, how much for a) 10"x8" b) 15"x10" prints? :)

the best thing to do then is use cardboard, something like kraftliner backing board and tape all the edges

if you use the wider tubes they should be ok too, ie ones about 4 or 5 inches in diameter

are you asking me for prices of those prints?, have a look on my website there is a pricelist, its not allowed for people to actually post the prices here

Rather than how much to get them printed, I meant - how much do you think I should charge for them? :)

what i would suggest you do to find market value is have a surf around a bunch of photogs sites who sell prints from their sites and gauge it from there

one thing I did with someone who wanted to buy a print of summat I had up on flickr was to ask ''how much would you pay''....

the number was twice what I was gonna ask.... go figure, eh? ;)
