Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I dont think so the Nikon fires the remote flash by sending a burst of pre flashes to trigger the remote(s). The only chance you may have is to set it up in manual mode.

Can you camera be set to the right channels and groups?

you need a nikon SU-800 or an SB-800 on the camera for full TTL

a flash slave will work with the inbuilt flash, but you'll have key in manual flash settings on both

    see pages 162 onwards

you should be able to do the same as the d200/d300/d700 and command the flash from the inbuilt in iTTL

    Hi,
I have an Sb-600 and it works well on the D70s I own, my brother owns an an sb-800 and sb-900 so I've tried them too. The wireless flash works well in commander mode provided the remote flashes sensor is not occluded from the on camera flash in commander mode. For the crack,I configured all three to fire remotely from the d70s, no radio trigger or other fiddly bits required.

When I'm next round at my brothers, and if we get down to kit fondling, I'll dig out his S5 pro and try the same trick, might be next week though.

FWIW,The 800 and 900 have more features than the sb-600, but its hard to that beat the sb-600 on bang for buck, it even works in TTL mode with a 1990's film camera I've been fumbling with.

    Adcon,
I got round to trying the Fuji S5 with the sb 600 wireless flash at the weekend.

The remote mode of the S5 is more featured than my D70s.
You can command two flash groups for TTL/M/AA, you can also elect to include the integrated flash on the S5 which is handy for a little front fill/catch light. That is one feature I can't do with the D70s, which I would find useful.

I tested it just my sb600 and it fired reliably, I set the function button to FV lock so that flash metering pre-flashes so as not to catch the subject mid blink (especially kids, must be their short synapses /cat like reflex ).

Not a bad camera that S5....

It might be a good idea to go to decent camera shop and test it out. The better camera shops don't mind you do that, I have found that John Gunns on Camden street is always good with that kind of thing.
