    Its our 10th year and we have 10 excellent bands to enjoy...and its all free!!
    Bands this year are; Van Django - Canada, Niwel Tsumu & Motema-The Congo, The Portobello Jazz Band - England, Skazz, Some like it Hot, Jazz Lite, Austin Durack, The Downtown Jazz Band, Mike Varden & Kate Scott Duo, Big Swing - Ireland.
    A lovely selection of styles from Swing, Dixie to Congolese Rhumba to Ska!

    Festival begins at 8pm in DOONBEG, Co CLARE and there will be non stop music all weekend.

    As part of the 10 years anniversary celebrations, The Doonbeg International Jazz Festival will be holding a Jazz Workshop on Sat 30th and Sun 31st May 2009.The workshop hopes to attract beginners and young people, and also aims to make Jazz accessible to everyone. Our workshop will allow people to explore a variety of instruments and enjoy working together on a jazz project.The workshop, run by; Mike Varden, of the Ennis Guitar School, and Bjorn Klein from Koln, Germany, will take place from 2-5pm on Sat 30th May, and 1-3pm on Sun 31st May, and the participants will then perform their music to the public at the festival.
