Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has anyone else noticed the 2 houses on the N11 (1 @ Arklow; 1 after beehive heading south) being demolished I presumed these had been acquired by NRA or WCC for development of dual carraigeway along here. Has anyone heard they are starting work on this?

afaik this project is ready to go, permission, compulsory purchase, tenders etc are all done. Its just waiting on funding, which should be available around 2015.

probably demolished to stop anyone moving back in and squatting.

Standard advance clearance works; would stop the former owners trying to make a claim to get them back or squatters as suggested above. Also reduces the time taken to get going once money appears.

I predict 2011 for this to start.

I think (hope) this would be one of the first schemes to start afterthe MIUs are finished. So much of the costs are sunk at this stage that a (remaining) cost/benefit analysis would be comparatively favourable.

Ignoring the financial costs, the costs of lives lost on this stretch of roads outweighs any other stretch of road in the country.

And that in itself has a financial cost in terms of medical, police, the impact on the survivors who may lose their breadwinner etc. etc.

I was speaking to one of the land owners beside this and he's been told that it's likely to start in the fall.

AFAIK it wont start till Q1 2011 at the earliest. Its neck & neck with the M17/18 PPP and that isnt due for contract signing until Q4 2010, barring ANY delays.
