Shanticeol is a new and innovative appraoch to music education for very young children developed by Kerry Anderson, Director of the Wicklow School of Music and Drama. The benefits go well beyond music education because yoga postures and philosophy are used to bind the course from start to finish.

The main aim of the course from 18 months all the way to seven years, is to prepare children for the study of an instrument. However the WSMD believes that this is an opportunity to incorporate ideas which enhance the process, such as physical movement to music from Dance and Yoga postures. Another goal is to improve physical co-ordination, growth and development.
