Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just got my first digital camera and I have a question. When I take a pic the resultant jpeg is around 1.6mb. Is there any way to reduce the size? I don't need so much "zoom in detail" in the pics....how do I get them smaller for uploading/emailing etc?

Some cameras have different options/sizes of jpg. You might be shooting large jpg, when small jpg might keep you happy. Check the camera settings. It will depend on make/model of the camera.

Ah ok I wasn't sure whether it was a thing to fix on the camera or something I had to do in Paint after taking the pic. Better get the instructions out.....at the moment the shooting style is set to AUTO I believe. Thanks.

A photobucket account for uploading and emailing might be more suited rather than turning down the file size unless you are short memory space in the camera that is

Unless you are really short in disk space on your PC, I'd recommend leaving the camera at full size and using Picasa to handle resizing for email and uploading (if you have a google/gmail account you can do both from within the programme).

Always have the camera set to Best Quality and Largest Size. Do any sizing or adjusting afterwards on computer.

This is good advice as you may (or someone else may) want to enlarge a photo at a later stage, frame it and hang it on a wall. If you have small coming out of the camera then you will be severely hampered in do such like.

There is a thread running here which details a number of options for batch processing images with a resize action.

    Regards.
