Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any experience with this? I need a wide lens soon and have been out of the market for a while, any suggestions for an alternative? Doesnt need to be too wide, and I would prefer something a bit faster if possible...

Have the regular ebay stores been taken out of action r.e. import duty?

I would say it is a cheap and reliable lens compared to its counterparts. but if you are using a full frame camera then maybe sigma 12-24 would be better.

I've just bought my 10-20 last week during the Photo Fest, got it at a good price. not really put it to the real test yet...but so far im lovin it...

I am giving this lense serious taught
seen it in a camera shop in Blanchardstown centre today
    499 euro
not sure how that compares to the price on line but i would imagine its at least 120 over ?

I have a canon camera and would love to go for their version but the price is a serious turn off ! !

I bought the Sigma (nikon fit) 10-20 about 8 weeks ago from Calumet and got it at the old price :D. Its great to have the beauty of the wide angle, but I do find it a bit soft by comparison to my nikon lenses. I can't afford to have the 12-24, but if I could I would. It is a beautiful lens and for it's price is well worth the money.

There is a new version of the sigma 10-20 cominig out soon with constant f3.5
and also for alternative try the new tamron 10-24mm.

I have the 10-20 sigma though it's a great lens, I got it for €399 in my local shop but that was last year- it's my favourite lens by far (but i only have 3 :))

Vignettes heavily on a full frame camera I believe so if you have a 5D it's not a good idea.

    Otherwise I like it.

That's because it's a DC lens, only meant for cropped sensors and not for full-frame cameras.

Conns offering used Sigma 17-35, looks like a possibility

That won't go anywhere near as wide as you might think when on a DX camera like the D80. There's a remarkable difference in that 7mm on the wide end!

It might just do, my widest is the 28 on my kit lens, and I usually just use the 50

Is there much field of view to gain from the 17 compared to the 28?

The lens itself is €200 less and faster

    I have the 10-20 and the 18-200, I think there's a big difference between 10 mm and 18mm (equivalent to 15 and 27 on a d80)
