Redirect long-URL to short-URL?

Hello all I am hoping someone can advise me on this. I have a long domain - http://www.mywebsite.ie/pg/groups/155/some-stuff-here/ I would like someone to be able to type - http://www.mywebsite.ie/something - and get redirected to the long domain. I am using linux. How would you recommend I do this? Thanks.

Was VERY tempted to say to get a foreign outsourcer to look at it for you :P

Your .htaccess file will do this - do a quick Google for that.
