Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I notice the JPEG files when shooting in RAW + JPEG don't have good noise reduction ... there is no in camera reduction ... as you have the RAW to do all the post processing.

annoying though when reviewing photos on the LCD or on an external screen.

Well atleast you know you have a camera which handles the noise very well...

do you have the Highlight tone priority on?
thats going to cause noise in the lower range/shadows so i'd turn that off if it's not needed

If you're just reviewing it then surely it's no big deal?

    nah of course not !!!

but since i got a decent machine that can handle RAW files .. I've been shooting exclusively in RAW , for the first month or 2 i was shooting in JPEG, just getting used to the cam, and i noticed ISO 6400 pics weren't as good as before ... on the LCD ... the final pics were better of course being in RAW ...
but i like the pic to look good on the LCD .. that way i know for sure it's a good pic....

i have the 5DII but have never wasted any time comparing noise on the LCD as it's pretty irelevant when it comes to displaying a finished picture either on a computer monitor or in a print

the LCD isn't meant to be 100% accurate to what a final edited photos is like

The picture you see on the screen is only a preview not the full file
