Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Shoreys been relativley crap for us yes but im so happy to see him start and therefore Villa play with a RB in RB a LB in LB etc for the first time in so long in the premiership.

Shoreys big chance before Bouma's back too

Rio missing is a big loss.

With Carew up there, i could see Villa deviating from their normal tactics and punting long balls for him to get under fairly often. Wicked pace supporting him in Gabby and Ash, think its going to be a very interesting game.

I agree with Bounty too, having the full backs in positions they are comfortable in is very important, and where Villa were undone against Pool.

Very weak bench from united too, only Park has any real amount of experience. WOuld love to see Macheda get some game time after what i've been hearing about him though.

I`m saying if United dont win I think Liverpool will go on and win the league. Its not sensationalism, its my opinion. The momentum is really with Liverpool at the moment and if United cant turn round the last three very disappointing performances then they may have blown the league.

BTW I`m predicting a United win today despite the weakened team.

thats fair enough then. howver this title chase will have alot of twists in it...liverpool will drop more points between now and the end for sure! so utd need to drop points here and lots more

Freidel must be due a howler against United at this stage after numerous mom performances against us!

So I'm assuming that Neville is on the right? With JOS in the middle yeah?

    yes

But i wouldve had Eckersley as Rb

Villa have nothing to call on from the bench. I would of preffered 5 in midfield including NRC, 1 upfront in Carew and Gabby on the bench.

C'mon United. Give it loads :)

Dying for the match to start - feels like ages since I've seen the lads play - stupid internatonals ;)

My worry isnt O'Shea or Evans, they can handle themselves. It's Neville. He's not been the same for quite some time now.

All in all, I think we'll do well not to concede. O'Shea will need to step up, but I think he will.

Nani will be frustrating but will play a huge huge role in the width needed to win.

Nor do Utd though, Park is the only experienced player

So, I'm guessing Utd will line-up like this?:

    VDS

    Neville O'Shea Evans Evra

    Fletcher Carrick Giggs Nani

    Ronaldo Tevez

He was dyer in the reserves recently

the only reason he's playing is for experience

I think it will be Fletcher and Carrick in the middle - we need Fletcher's defensive ability.

sky and their crap saying when VDS wears blue he concedes and when he wears yellow he doesnt.

i really would love to see him get some time alright, been reading a lot about him, sounds a very exciting prospect. Always good to have stars brewing for the future, even in competing teams. makes for a good league!

    VDS
    Neville O'Shea Evans Evra
    Carrick Fletcher
    Ronaldo Giggs Nani
    Tevez

With the two wingers swapping at times, i guess ?

No idea how United will line up.

Giggs rarely plays wide anymore, so he could either be in the centre or play off Tevez. Ronaldo on the wings with Nani, Carrick and Fletcher in the middle, Giggs off Tevez.

That said, Fergie always surprised me, we could see
Giggs and Nani on the wings, Carrick and Fletcher in the middle, Tevez off Ronaldo.

Then again, considering the ****eness of Neville, we could have Fletcher protecting Neville.

Fletcher and Nani on the wings, Carrick and Giggs in the middle, Ronaldo off Tevez.

Personally I'd prefer Giggs and Nani on the wings with Ronnie up front.

Ye it's all guesswork, but I really think Ronaldo will start up top, with Giggs in the middle, Fletcher offering stability on the right wing.

It's the first time for almost two years that Manchester United have played in the Premier League without either Rio Ferdinand or Nemanja Vidic in the team.

    Come on Villa!

1 early enough, then another 2nd half to kill it off!
