Roadworks at Murrough

Please can anybody tell me what on earth is going on near Wicklow railway station? Vast roadworks, bridges etc are being erected in an area which I would have thought should have some sort of preservation order on it? I travel through the area on the train and the scale of the work seems to increase every time I pass. Also…

Please can anybody tell me what on earth is going on near Wicklow railway station? Also why is the industrial estate sprawling further and further north along the Murrough? Broad Lough will soon encroached upon.

They're works for the Wicklow town and port relief road.
