Go for an ITEC course, if at all possible.

Well the area of Film and Fashion are very different and you usually go down one route or another. If you're really serious about wanting to do it, the best college to do make-up for film is DLIADT and the best for fashion is the London College of Fashion.

You don't just land jobs after you finish though. It's a tough area to make it in and Ireland is so small you'd be better off going to London. America is almost impossible to get a visa for as there as so many make-up artists working over there already so there's no real grounds for granting you a visa.

You could do a short course to see if it's what you want to do at say Make-up Forever or something similar.
