Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

.... that is the Nifty Fifty Club. :D

Today while doing Gallery Duty I popped down to Gunn's & bought a Nikon 50mm f1.8.

I was served by John Gunn himself & he kept thanking me for shopping there. He really knows the meaning of service. It was a pleasure to buy it there.

I picked up my D70S in town & shot a few pics on the way home.

Looking forward to using it more now.

    The Nifty Fifty rocks!

I've recently been using my nifty fifty more than ever now.
Before i only used it for few very specific instances like in low light or where i wanted something with a narrow dof.

But now i've been going into town with just than one lens alone. Its a brilliant lens! There's a lot you can do with it and i've only started discovering it!

do you mind me asking how much it cost? I popped in there the other day and they said they were getting them in and she was not sure of the price. Thanks

The door has actually been re-opened. I do have some nice prime glass in storage in Australia. A very sharp 135mm, a 50mm & a 200mm. All completely manual.

It was €116 & I think it may have been the last one in stock.

Welcome to the 'club'. Its a wonderful sharp lens - and you got it a a reasonable price. Gunns is a great spot and very friendly.

    Happy shooting.

T'is the best lens I own! :pac:
Great for gigs especially - But I've often wondered is the extra e550 worth it for the 70mm f1.8?
