Please help me - Name that comedian

    This is a long shot, but I'm hoping someone here can identify a comedian for me, based on the following clues.

    I think he's American.
    He played a gig in Killarney (summer of 2001 or 2002). Deirdre O'Kane was on the same night.

    The venue was a pub / nightclub called McSorleys.
    He did stand-up, with a guitar.
    He may have worn a cowboy hat.
    His first name and surname may have started with the same letter, it was certainly alliterative.

    While I can remember nothing else, I do have a feeling this guy was extremely funny.
    He had a sequence that consisted of playing the music to one song, while singing the lyrics to another.

    It may not sound funny, but it was.

    This ring any bells ? Anyone ?
