Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone think it would be possible to start something like this on boards?.
I am only asking the AH members do they think it would be possible?,if it was it could be hosted in games.

Online play typically means Internet forum-play, with early games including those in the forum of mathematical puzzle site Grey Labyrinth in 2000.[53] The standard human-moderated games require one or two moderators: a sign up thread is created announcing the game, and once the game has sufficient players, play can begin.

Seems to be no limit on the numbers that can take part.

It usually starts in the night phase with mafiosi communicating via email before submitting their kill (to the moderator). The moderator then writes the appropriate death scene for those that were eliminated, and posts a dawn scene. All players can now discuss (in the forum) who they should execute, followed by an execution vote. Innocents are usually forbidden in-game communication outside of the public forum.

Moderators Any ideas?,would it be possible?.It could be a lot of fun.

Okay too much info in previous post, a bit confusing.

In its basic form this is how it goes.

The game moderator announces that a game will commence at such a time on such a date.

Members who are interested register on to the thread .To start off you could limit it to 20 or less.

Once members are registered the moderator decides the amount of “killers” (mafia/werewolves).Usually 3 or less of registered posters for a game of 20 players. Moderator picks who the killers are and informs them off thread. Killers are introduced to each other off thread so they can communicate with each other off thread. All the other posters (innocents/villagers) have no idea who they are and are forbidden from discussing off thread.

Each night between 9pm and 8am the killers decide off thread , which of the other posters(villagers) to kill and inform the moderator. The moderator informs the thread each morning around 9am who the victim is and writes out a death scenario(could be based on their signature or moderators immagination). for that person. That peson is then out of the game

Then all the remaining posters including the hidden mafia (9am to 8pm) discuss and try to figure out who the killer/killers are. Accusations and denial fly about. They then vote before 9pm and pick someone to lynch .That person is knocked out and can no longer take part.
(maybe you could use a daily poll for this)

The moderator can then tell posters if the person they lynched is innocent or guilty.

The game ends when all the mafia or villagers are dead. The winners are announced.

    End of.

Ps: Moderator can add in clues in death scenario at his discretion or not.
Ideally a day time and night time moderator would be needed for the bigger games, and if large numbers apply to play killers can despatch more than one victim per night to speed up the game.

Yep see what you mean, now i'v got brain pains.

Yeah I've played this before. It's pretty good. I wouldn't mind a game on boards. The only thing though I'd change is using this site instead of emailing all the mafia members.
