Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

I brought in a camper from Germany last year and never bothered trying to get the automatic satellite system working on it before now.

The couple of times I switched it on the antennae spends 5 minutes spinning around and then it picks up about 5 or 6 German channels.

It has a Kathrein UFD 540 receiver. Can anyone point me to a dummies guide where I can get the basic info on setting it up for Ireland?

Check out this link which is to the user manual for your model - http://www.kathrein.de/en/sat/products/doc/9986450a.pdf.

If you go to www.kathrein.de/en/index_main.html this is the home page for the manufactured. Search for "UFD 540" and it brings back all their manuals.

I have / had one of their systems, and although it broke last year, it was fairly easy to operate. You may need to get it to search for more channels to update the list, but the manual explains all this. In ireland, you should be looking for Astra 28 satellite. Check out www.lyngsat.com, which gives a list of channels you should get - BBCs, ITVs, C4, Five - No RTE etc.

If you need help - you can PM me if you want

    Michael
