Enhancing audio on an AVI file

Hi
I have a video interview taken on a digital camera but on a very low setting and as a result the sound quality is very poor with a constant buzzing sound, speech is almost inaudible.

Does anyone have any recommendations of how I can improve the sound quality or at least phase out the buzzing?
I am using Pinnacle Studio 12 but I have not used it before now.

Any help would be much appreciated

One method you might use is
Virtualdub
http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=VirtualdubMOD Mod to increase the volume. In 'Streams>Stream list', right click on the audio file and select 'Full processing mode'. Right click on it again and select 'Volume'. Adjust as needed. Click 'OK' Under 'Video', select 'Direct stream copy'. This will resave the file with the new audio without changing the video.

If you need to do more filtering or fine tuning on the audio, save it out as a WAV and use the freeware audio editor Audacity. http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=Audacity
Take the output of that and use ffmpeggui

to put it back into AC3 format. Then either add that back in with the video with VDM, http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=VirtualdubMOD
or if your authoring program accepts elemental streams, like TMPGEnc

DVD Author, add it in then.
