    is that 2% on top of the 1% ???

    He mentioned 1500 euro per year, who is paying that??? Sorry! :(

    It's 2% instead of the 1%, and so on, it's not on top of the 1% :)

    I think he meant that people on 50k would pay an additional 1500 per. their levy increases from 1% to 4%

    50,000 @ 1% = 500
    50,000 @ 4% = 2000

    is this what he meant ?

    Social welfare rates not being reduced....for now. Dun dun DUN!

    EDIT: Job seekers allowance for under 20s being halved

    Christmas bonus being abolished.

    No reduction of welfare payments, perhaps in the next budget.

    No December bonus will be paid this year.

    Jobseeker allowed for under-20's is halved to €300
