rent has come down why wouldn't that come down.

just because rent has dropped doesnt mean people on rent allowance have more money to spend. its given in proportation to what u pay in rnet. so if u pay less u get less.

Nothing on alcohol. Sure the Fianna Fail lads aren't going to damage their mates' business. I expected a tax on off-licence beer though.

Lol Xmas bonus on welfare, with a 20 billion deficit it is crazy to suggest it shouldn't go.

The cost of living has reduce slightly so save the money now for Xmas and you won't have any problems.

    .....*breathes sigh of relief*
Diesel should have been left as is. Its vital to the infrastructure, delivery vans HGVs public transport even.

Those on the dole, as all others, will just have to reorganise events such as christmas to suit their means... Smaller token presents perhaps... I've afforder nice things for christmas for years on a budget.

Dole should have been reduced to suit the downturn in the economy and the increase in tax for employed persons.

    Yeah sorry I meant diesel.

Are smokes up 25% or by 25 cent? I thought it was % myself.

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,965 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Its 25% of the exise which isn't 25% of the cost of the cigarettes. I'd say it roughly equates to 10% overall

I wonder if there will be anything about FAS, it's getting tougher and tougher to get on any course and due to cut backs, well paid staff are wandering around doing nothing.
