I thought it was 25% on cigarettes too and freaked but an update thing on rte said 25 cent. Not as bad.

There will be a new scheme to allow civil servants over the age of 50 to retire. The scheme will begin in May. Those retiring will not be replaced unless sanctioned by the Department of Finance.

This will be a lovely toxic pill either way (i.e. at market value it screws over the Irish as their tax money pays over price or it will topple the bank by buying at real value which is the whole issue in the first place forcing a nationalisation of the bank, want to guess which one I believe in?).
