Bloody hell. Cigarettes going up 25% a packet. That will really bring out the black market suppliers.
Childers allowance going to be means tested from next year. That might be no harm I think. Maybe.
Dole being halved for anyone under 20 years of age. Might make the young get up and find work I think.
5c on fuel. We could see that coming.
Tax hicks. 2, 4 r 6% depending on the bracket you are in.
Mortage relief for new house buyers only for the first 7 years.
Bonus dole week in December gone. About bloody time too. Some people working dont get a Christmas bonus.
Rent allowance being cut. A bit harsh in some cases.

And all of the above stated on TV in the first 10 minutes. Geeez this is going to get rough eh?

It's actually 25 cent on the fags.
Some pretty serious tax increases alright, but country needs to improve the take here. Big hole left by decline in the construction sector and other factors.
It was never gonna be pretty so we may get use to it imo.
Regarding the fuel its only the diesel, petrol unchanged.

pity it wasn't 25% it might have got more people to quit or at leas contribute towards their increased healthcare costs as they get older. totally agree with dole being cut for those under 20 as they wont be getting as drunk at weekends now ending up abusing guards, fighting and ending up in hospital abusing the staff there. young drinkers should require a licence, this would save the country a fortune!
These reduced personal and Qualified Adult rates of payment will not apply where a claimant is entitled to an increase for a Qualified Child.
the only problem is they will all be having children to keep the full dole!
