There was some sort of Buddhist meditation ongoing in Bridge Mills at one point. Also, I think there may be a meditation going in the Spirit Centre, Nun's Island.

Hey man, maybe not exactly what you're looking for but here's what I know:

    - An Seomra Yoga (http://anseomrayoga.com). Haven't been and quite expensive. Think they do meditation too.
    - Galway Social Space starts 6 week yoga things occasionally, one just finished. (http://www.galwayspace.org/), run by donation.

    - For meditation, Galway Zen Dojo is probably closest to what you're looking for. http://www.iolfree.ie/~irish_zen/galway.html . It's pretty intense. Run by donation
    - There's meditation in NUIG from Thursday 1-2 in The Quad (go right after going in there and in the closest door at the end), nobody will ask if you're a student. It's not on this week or next week though. It's really informal and casual, so if you're a bit intimidated to go down go to this one first.

I prefer the place in bridgemills they don't try to sell you any ideology and it's not full of posers although the first session in the morning is at 6.45 and you wouldn't get many posers up at that time. they do evenings too though if you wanna sleep in.

Just to let you know, went to the Zen thing in bridge mills today (introduction Mondays 6pm for beginners) and thought it was great.

It's 25 mins sitting meditation (gets quite sore but supposedly you adjust after a few weeks), then a walking meditation for about 15 mins. After that there's another sitting meditation while Alain (French dude, a monk I think) throws out a few lines from the books (nothing religious, just some introspective stuff to meditate on). It finishes with some kind of chanting thing for about 5 minutes, the kind of thing you hear buddhist monks do in that really low resonating voice, quite strange but cool if you just kind of go with it :)

It finished about 8:00pm. Definitely recommended.
