    Looking for a moderator for my Tikka .223 super varmint something small and effective:D

    ASE Ultr Nightstar.
    Stainless steel and goes back over the barrel. A little smaller than the T8.
    I have one coming for my CZ 223 varmint with a 5/8" thread in .30 cal so that it will also fit my Sako 75 308 as well.

    Not a fan of the type that go back over the barrell, are there any that just thread over the muzzle ?

    The ASE Utra Jet-z CQB is a lovely moderator and does a good job too.

    They tend to be unnecessarily big and bulky and the the smaller muzzle top mods do the job just as well and look better in my opinion.

    The ase ultra jet are an excellent mod.....Had one on my 6.5x55....As far as price goes..you get what you pay...quality product = big bucks

    I heard an ASE S5 on the Tikka Tactical 308 at the range they are very quite. The ASE Nightstar is the S5 but now with an extra expansion chamber going down the barrel.

    My favourite is the a-tec modular. Small, not over barrel and weighs only 470grams for a 30 cal.
    Another advantage is one can remove a few baffels and make it shorter and lighter for stalking with somewhat less silencing.

    I heard a "Sparks" moderator down in midlands a few weeks ago but the bugger just won't sit still on the end of the barrel! not sure if he's a 1/2" or 5/8" screw but it's a bit loose anyway! ;)
