So, any interest among forum users, and their friends, about the aforementioned course? It's new, starting in September and will include a foreign study trip between semesters. All looks very promising!

'They' say a recession is a good time to improve ones education ;)

I know very few people from my graduating went straight into a Masters programme, but for 4th years or even recent graduates it might be the way to go!

I've heard about this course, and tbh I think it looks really promising.

I'm not interested myself, but thats mainly because I looked at the IEM course first, applied and got accepted for that.

I do know at least 3 current 4th year BBS students who are going to apply for the MSc that you have mentioned above.

I think that more and more people will begin to apply for it as they realise that there is feck all to do outside of college at the moment, and that doing a 1 year Masters is only going to be beneficial also.

I emailed the guy over it. It does seemlike a good course. The study trip is supposed to be to South Africa! or one of the BRIC countries Brazil, Russia, India or China.

I hear nothing but good things about the MBS in IEM, the teaching staff in particular! And yes, a Masters does seem to be the way to go! I got accepted to the MSc last Tuesday, celebrations. Although returning to poverty for a year will of course have it's downsides!

Yup, gotta love those emerging markets, I was thinking along the lines of maybe some Eastern European countries... Those, are better... :)

Best of luck with the application. I suppose when doing a Masters programme the debate is whether to specialise (in my case the MSc in Marketing) or to diversify (MSc in Intl Mgmt.) The obvious choices for a HR degree would be to do the MBS in HRM or even the MSc in Work and Organisational Psychology. This is the diversify side of the coin I guess!

The Msc in Work and Organisational Psychology is only accepting psychology undergrads into it, as other disciplines wouldn't be getting recognition by The Psychological Society of Ireland... which, to be honest, is a bit of a B***H for all other than psycho-undergrads!!! :D

So if considering doing that, you may just wanna reconsider and diversify in another direction! ;)
