tax for lone parents

    does it now state with the budget that
    lone parents have to start paying tax
    no matter what their wage is
    or if their in perment/part time jobs

    Eh, depends on what you mean by tax.

    All earners at the low pay levels will be subject to the 2% levy starting from 15K a year upwards. However anyone entitled to a medical card will be exempt from the levy from my understanding of things.

    So if a single parent earned under 15K in the year or has a medical card they will not be taxed. Any single parent earning more than 15K a year who doesn't have a medical card will be taxed but only at 2%. They will continue to be outside the 20% tax band if they were so before this budget.
