Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just started a blackout account and I was wondering if anyone has any links to beginner guides. The daily ones that are getting emailed to me are ****. I need to find out things like how to know who is suited to what position. Do you need to spend hours learning off who is suited based on height weight and skills.

*heads off to google wtf is Blackout Rugby*

Ok, sounds interesting, basically one of those Team Management type games http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackout_Rugby

Well, if it's relatively accurate it should conform to reality to some degree. Start off with height vs weight - short stocky guys like me probably go in the front row, the shorter ones at hooker, the bigger guys at prop. Stick your giraffes in at lock, and the fit big guys in the backrow. Put the pretty guys in the backs (the pretty-ist at out-half) and there you go.

    Blackout Rugby. Done.

hahaha if only its that simple, there's squad of 30 players and there's no proper way to compare player for player. It seems very clunky....first impressions are poor. would anyone like to try and convince me otherwise

You will need to base your positions on the players attributes. You can start with Weight and Height, but then you will also need to consider their skills (Kicking, Jumping, Speed, Defense etc).

It can be a bit daunting at first, but you will start to know your players better as you go on, and it gets easier. However, I do think they should add features for sorting players into appropriate positions if the user hasn't got the time, or the know how. (Your default lineup when you first sign up should be pretty decent regaring the positions etc)

You make money from sponsors, gate receipts I think. So basically the better you do the more people sponsor you and the more people join your club/go to games. Try not to go crazy buying too many players, building too much at the beginning.
