Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does that Toon kit have a health warning on the back?!

    Its like Fenerbahce....on drugs :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,656 ✭✭✭dannydiamond

I think that Newcastle kit was meant to be white but someone vomited on it the last day of the season.

Another shot from the sun. I hopeful as I ain't spotting any V on them though its hard to see.
TAKE a first look at Manchester United's new home kit for the 2009-10 season!
The new kit will be launched on July 1 and its appearance has been a tightly guarded secret.

But here you can see our sneak preview of the famous red shirt updated for 2009-10 and modelled by Wayne Rooney.

To take a closer look at the deliberately darkened image, click on the 'Enlarge' icon below the picture on the right to launch a larger version in a pop-up window.

The new kit has been designed to recognise the club's glorious history at Old Trafford in the ground's centenary year.

It features several design cues that pay homage to the side that first played at the Theatre of Dreams.

We will soon reveal the new United home kit in its full glory so keep your eyes open for more exclusives at thesun.co.uk/sport.

who wants to go dig up that jersey.....

i can see the black V quite clearly.

i can see the black V quite clearly.

You have better eyes than me, and it could well be true. Old Trafford opened in 1910, and we had this in the 1909 FA Cup final...

    mufc-kit1909facup.gif

So it all makes sense, and gives them an excuse to only keep it a year.

I wonder what next years commemorative jersey will be....

Yeah you can definitely see the black V.

Picture just needed to be lightened.

Agree, very cool. Zenit away still has to be may favourite in this thread so far.

That Newcastle jersey is one of the worst I've ever seen. Atrocious.

What I can't understand is how a design and marketing department convinced themselves that this was a good jersey?

Surely they do some sort of market research to get a portion of the fans opinions on it? If they had they would have known how far off the mark they are with it!

    OFF TOPIC:
Why can't all clubs release 2-3 prototypes of the new jerseys and let the fans (signed up members) decide which one they want via web poll???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

Yes Alanmurphy83, we do have better eyes than you. Either that or your screen needs adjusting.

Clear black V on those pics. I still think it looks ok.

Boro did it a few years back with their away shirt.

didn't United let fans design a few jerseys before in the mid 90s?

May not be perfect but I've done some photoshop job with colour and contrast settings on the rio pic. It gives a much clearer indication of how it will look.

Most of the jersey's this year look pritty horrible. Liverpool's home is by far the best and Spurs's home and Villa's away are also nice but they are the only ones

    No sponser on the Away?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,149 ✭✭✭ironictoaster

It's the goalkeepers one. For some reason the kids one doesnt have a sponser but the adults do according to their site.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,235 ✭✭✭iregk

Apparently according to the BBC united fans on some website are petitioning the club to re-design the jersey.

probably about 3 people, but they can make a story of it.

On the sites I have been on, haven't seen any petition regarding the kit. Sure, people don't like it, but haven't seen it go that far, yet.

Dont like the round collar.....nike really scraping the bottom of the barrel with some of their "new" kits....YAWN

I actually like the chevron tho, gives the shirt a bit of individuality to separate it from the other templates, a bit like the white vertical stripe down the back of last seasons one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,983 ✭✭✭leninbenjamin

not a United fan, but i actually quite like the shirt. Imo the black Chevron is a bit too strong, would have preferred it maybe a slightly darker red, but overall i quite like it. Nothing really overpowering on it like some other modern designs. Can't see what all the fuss is about tbh.

    It's a polo shirt with a crest.

I like that United shirt. Nobody will have a problem with it once it has been used in a few matches. Always happens.
