Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey,

I came into possession of two strange old coins, i believe they are of old Roman leaders although i am not too sure. The coins themselves are only about 2 cm in diameter and i believe they could be bronze. I dont know anything about them so im just looking for any information about them.

    Thanks

The second one is far too blurry to make out.

The first appears to be a Valentinian II, you might be able to make out " VALENTINIANVS " on the legend. The reverse figure is Victory advancing left holding a wreath. 375 to 392 A.D. It's a fairly cheap late Roman bronze.

P.S. Do not attempt to clean them.

Thanks, for the info, sorry about the quality of the pictures.... I was actually going to try to clean them, so what do you suggest i do with them, i have no real interest in them tbh, are they even of any value at all....

You'll destroy any value they might have if you clean them. The one I identified is worth around 5 euro, you're better off keeping it or giving it to someone who might appreciate it. I'd have no idea of value for the other one unless I can get clear pictures of it. I'd like to get a good look at it, you can use a scanner if you're camera can't focus that close. Just put a clear piece of plastic on the scanner bed so you don't scratch the glass.
