Oasis, I guess, but it all seems so long ago.

What the fuck were we thinking of?

    The Beatles.

Supertramp had some pretty good songs too.

Listened to all of them... but if I had to sit and listen to either Oasis or Blur for the next 2 hours, I'd probably pick blur... since oasis made some really terrible songs in their later years... around the time Liam decided he didn't need to sing properly anymore and could get by vomiting half-pronounced waffle into the mic, just as long as he looked the part.
Or as mentioned, Pulp... so underrated.

It was Blur for me at the time.

I did quite like Oasis and Pulp too though.
    +1

Listened to Supergrass too, though that Alright song is very very irritating! - Richard III and Moving ftw! I was listening to Pulp's Common People there only last week - it's still class!

Looking back on blurs career, the album (13) - (released in 1999, the 1 with coffee & tv on it) was an absolute masterpiece album which I thought was crap at the time because of them changing their sound so much.

But that's what they did differently to oasis, which makes them better musicians in my opinion. They experimented, and changed, successfully. Even the recent oasis stuff (dig out your soul) still sounds like the definitely maybe or what's the story morning glory albums.

Only $hite (from what I've heard of it)

It was Blur at the time but looking back, Supergrass were better.

Oasis' early material is far superior to Blur's debut work, and is still great to listen to. However Oasis' post-2000 work isn't even in the same league as Think Tank.

Out of the choices given though, Oasis by a long way.

Blur were the thinking man's band, every album except The Great Escape was pretty much packed full of classics, with great lyrics, even that album had one or two classics on it, The Universal for instance. Blur were so much more varied and had so much more quality in dept that there's no comparison between them and Oasis really. Modern Life is Rubbish and Parklife are outstanding albums. Oasis' first two albums were great, the raw energy and abrasiveness was generation-defining, in many ways it's not really a valid comparison between them and Blur, they were different sounds. After those albums though it seemed like Oasis only really appeal to apprentices and people who can't hold down jobs/relationships, they were definitely one trick ponies.
